Fortefog Midi and Maxi Fumers are smoke generators designed to kill all insects in an enclosed area. A very effective treatment for getting rid of SpiderMites. The Midi 'P' Fortefog Fumer is designed for amateur and professional use ie a growroom, whereas we recommend the Maxi 'P' Fumer should only be used in a Polytunnel / Industrial situation ie For Professional use only. Fortefog Fumers are an extreme method for getting rid of severe Spider Mite infestations- consider using Spidermite Control or Protector Natural Insect Killing Spray(formerly AquaBlast Bug Spray) if you are only dealing with a small room. Treatment, either with Spidermite Control, Protector or Fortefog 'P' Fumers, will need to be carried out at least 3 times, within 3-4 days max of each other, in order to kill newly hatched mites before they begin laying fresh eggs themselves. Only for use in an empty grow space-leave the equipment in there so it is also treated.
Fortefog 'P's contain 13.25% Permethrin which is harmful to humans, animals and all insects. Only consider this product if you can operate your extraction on a timer or from outside your treatment area. It is harmful if breathed or swallowed and can cause skin irritation. Keep out of childrens reach, away from any foodstuffs or drinks (including animal feeds), keep away from extreme heat, naked flames and do not smoke near an unlit fumer. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling a Fumer- whether used or unused. Dispose of container safely. This product is approved under the Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986 HSE No. 7187.
Instructions for use. Only use in a growroom/ polytunnel/ greenhouse when there are no plants inside. Leave the growroom/ building overnight-minimum 6 hours. Before returning make sure you have extracted for at least an hour and the treatment area is thoroughly vented with fresh air. Before use, make your growroom as airtight as possible, including blocking up exit ducting with a scrunched up paper bag, which should blow out if not jammed in tightly. Place the Fumer/s close to the ground on a heat resistant surface-the tin gets hot and smoke will rise. Take the lid off and light the fuse, Leave immediately. If using more than one, then light the Fumer furthest from the exit first- ideally use a face mask too. DO NOT RETURN FOR ANY REASON unless you have totally ventilated as detailed above.
Treating for Spidermites- Fortefog 'P' Midi Fumer- assuming a ceiling height of approximately 2.5m, a room 4m x 5m would need 2. Three applications ie 6 tins.
