The Multiflow Systems from The BigShop create monster-sized plants due to the huge amounts of oxygen and fresh nutrient that is supplied during the ’on’ cycle. These systems are hybrids of flood & drain and bubbler/oxypot and are available in 12, 24, 36 & 48 pot sizes. They are supplied with a Controller/ Brain mounted on a 25L bucket with 15 minute segmental timer & relay & float switches built in, which gravity feeds the individual 9L pots and inserts. The inserts rest on the lip of the 9L pots and have multiple holes in the bottom of them for aerated nutrient solution to flood in and to drain back out. Most growers use Hydro Rokz / Clay Pebbles or Coco as their growth medium in the insert pot into which a cutting or seedling is planted in a rockwool cube, Root Riot/Fleximix or Jiffy 7 plug. Useful tip for even better results: Add extra airstones into each 9L pot for higher growth rates!
The BigShop sell Multiflow Systems with or without the Black Drainage Stands. We do however, STRONGLY RECOMMEND buying your system with the black drainage stands. They DO NOT come as standard with our Multiflow systems and are not essential BUT they do serve a VERY USEFUL purpose in that they raise the 9L pot and tilt it forwards 5 degrees to greatly increase drainage. The Drainage Stands make the Multiflow a superior System, and with the increased drainage function comes EXTRA GROWTH.
When the system is on, the 25L pot begins to fill from the Large Reservoir by means of an MJ1000 litre pump. As the 25L Brain container fills, it also is draining into the 9L pots via the 13mm flexible tubing until they are full. This can take up to ½-3/4 of an hour, depending on the size of the system ie how many pots need to be filled. After the 9L pots are full, the Brain activates the second MJ1000 pump, which starts pumping solution back into the Large Reservoir. As the 25L container empties, it is refilled by gravity, until all the 9L pots are empty and are also full of fresh oxygen which has been pulled back into the roots- although they are still holding 5-6cm of liquid. At this point the system becomes inactive until the next feed cycle- except for any airpumps that may be running, if you add them to your system.
With a Multiflow come 9L pots and inserts, 16mm Elbows & Tees, 13mm Flexible Tubing, 2 x MaxiJet 1000 pumps, A Controller/Brain unit (c/w 25L container, float switches and relay), and a Large Reservoir suited for your system size-12 pot/190L, 24 pot/220L, 36 & 48 pot/350L.
