Our 13mm Flexible Tubing is Food Grade high quality black and will not let light penetrate- it is far better to use than ordinary Green Hose- it is the standard tubing in a variety of hydroponic systems such as the Multiflow Version 1. The size 13mm refers to the Inside Diameter (ID), which will fit 16mm irrigation fittings- fitting sizes refer to the Outside Diameter (OD). So, to be clear, use 16mm fittings for 13mm tubing.
A 16mm Barbed Elbow is useful for making a right angle corner in your supply line, whilst a 16mm Barbed Tee, 16mm Barbed Cross and a 16mm Barbed Connector will provide solutions for delivering nutrients and water efficiently to your indoor plants. Too many ends? Use a 16mm Barbed Plug to stop up an extra line. A 16mm Barbed Flow Control Tap will allow you to create an inline tap to regulate supply.
We also keep the very useful 16mm Top Hat Grommets which are essential for fitting any 16mm connector into a bucket or reservoir.
If you need to step down from a larger bore, we suggest using a 20-16mm Barbed Reducer or a 16mm to 20mm Threaded Socket or use a 16mm to 16mm Threaded Socket to continue a straight run. We also keep 16mm Barbed Inline Filter’s and a 16mm Barbed Non Return Valve to prevent back siphoning.
We keep a variety of fittings to connect to BSP sizes, which are commonly used in water supply fittings. A 16mm Barbed Elbow to 16mm M.BSP is thus a 16mm Barb fitting on one end and the other is a 16mm Male BSP fit. The BigShop also keep 16mm Barbed Tee to 16mm M.BSP, 20mm Barbed Tee to 16mm M.BSP, 16mm Barbed Tee to 16mm F.BSP fittings and a ½” BSP Cap & Washer to seal a 13mm bore.
For smaller tubes stepping up to a larger we stock 16mm F.BSP Inlet (fits 5mm Tube) and 16mm M.BSP Inlet (fits 6mm Tube).
To complete our range of 16mm fittings the BigShop have 16mm M.BSP to 16mm Barbed Hose Tail Connectors, 20mm M.BSP to 16mm Barbed Hose Tail Connectors and a 20mm F.BSP to 16mm Barbed Hose Tail Connector.
If coming off a mains water supply or larger supply line, use a 20mm M.BSP to 16mm Barbed Flow Control Tap and we have a 16mm M.BSP to 16mm Barbed Flow Control Tap. If using a water barrel/ nutrient reservoir we have 20mm M.BSP to 16mm Elbow Taps which include washers for a well sealed join.
A 20mm Barbed to 16mm F.BSP Quick Release Union is useful for easily connecting/ disconnecting a supply line.
