The Homebox XXL is 1.2m x 2.4m x Height 2.0m when assembled and can be put up easily by one person. The internal area is 2.9m2. It is a grow tent that comes in a box.
There are 2 doors, with sewn in Zips -one in the front and one in the back which makes for easy access to monitor and maintain your plants. They are recommended for use with 2 x 600w High Pressure Sodium lights- The BigShop sell Maxigrow Compact 600w’s and Digital 600w’s which are both ideal for an XXL- although as with all grow tents, whether Homebox, Secret Jardin or a cheaper manufacturer we strongly suggest keeping the lighting ballast unit externally. The maximum weight load for each light, carbon filter, extractor fan and anything else that is hanging should be less than 50kg on each side. The metal structural tubes are joined by robust nylon push lock corners.
The Homebox range used to be made from a high quality PVC but the German manufacturers have now upgraded to a Black outer surface made of Black Polyamide film (PA) which is laminated to an Internal White Polyethylene film (PET) and both are food grade quality. When both films are used together they act as a great barrier to smells and odours. The materials react well with Co2 and Oxygen. The Black PA is very abrasion-proof. PET is a polymer of ethylene and is commonly used in construction, packaging, horticulture and agriculture. Together, they are 100% light- proof.
Near the bottom of the grow tent there are two air inlets or windows for ventilation, which is great to have a supply of fresh air being pulled in low down at the root zone where it is needed most. As it heats up from the HPS lights, the air rises and is extracted out, by ideally a 6” RVK in-line extractor, which is a perfect fit for the 260mm air sock sleeve in the roof area. There are inlet/outlet sleeves of 160mm on the left and right of the XXL.
There is a removable floor/ water tray at the bottom which can be easily washed and makes the XXL Homebox really suitable for hydroponics or soil growing. There are 8 belts attachable to the ceiling, for hanging your reflectors, Carbon filter etc.
Easy to follow instructions are included in the box. Its packaged dimensions in the box are 122 x 73 x 12cm. Weight is 23.9kg.
