The BigShop sell a range of Ultratherm Heat Mats in 3 sizes- 24" x 12"/ 60w, 30" x 14"/ 120w and 50" x 16"/ 290w. They are best used with hydroponic reservoirs- especially the X-treme aeroponic propagators, but all tanks will benefit from added heat during cold weather. If used with soil pots then do not put the pots directly on the heat mat- use a spacer of some sort to create a gap for warm air to rise safely.

 Use Heat Mats with the Digital Thermostat Controller, which allows you to effectively control the temperature of your heat matting or mats up to 500w. The Digital Thermostat Controller can also be used with our 100w Soil Cable to warm a bed of soil, although it can be used with wattage up to 500w and comes with a 1 year warranty. The ideal temperature for propagation is between 18-22 degrees C, but this will vary with differing plants and strains.

 We also keep stock of Theo Tank Heaters in 3 sizes and wattages - Theo 100w, 200w & 300w. They are a robust tank heater which can be controlled to sit at the desired temperature. If it is not making any difference, then your tank is too big and you need the larger 300w! When using tank heaters, obviously don't let your tank run dry, but even more importantly SWITCH OFF & REMOVE the tank heater before refilling your tank, otherwise the Heat Resistant Glass can crack. Great when used correctly.
