Growtents are a very useful way of creating a growroom, that is 100% light-proof and very portable (although not when full!), and once up, you have an instant, clean and washable grow-room space that is designed to hold in weight terms, all the equipment that a grower might potentially use. They can be used for both soil growing and hydroponics/ aeroponics, and are designed for use with High Pressure Sodium Lights (HPS).  We have selected two high quality suppliers to give you more choice.

 Homebox were the first large scale manufacturer of grow-tents, and they are designed by Germans, so they are made to a high standard(vor sprung durch technic quality!). Since their original versions we have seen the quality of the Homebox range improve, particularly in the last few years, and the price has stayed the same, more or less, which adds up to a better value for money product with upgrades.

Secret Jardin are the newest supplier of growtents, French designed, to the Big Shop, and they are an excellent value for money buy, available in two varying qualities.

The Dark Room’s are a premium piece of equipment made with Fabric Mylar which is Dual Layered or laminated together with 95% silver type internal reflection and newer thicker 210D Light-proof Level 11 material.  As with the Homebox and the Dark Room from Secret Jardin, the floors are waterproof and removable for easy cleaning.

The new Dark Street’s from Secret Jardin are a great value buy for those on a budget but don’t let that put you off. They are also made with Dual Layered Mylar Fabric 190D thickness and have strong robust support tubes for the structure and are still 95% reflective inside.

Grow tents don’t require you to make holes or even screwholes in existing walls, ceilings and other parts of your building and even remove the need for masking tape on walls which often peel off the wallpaper or paint during removal. The growtents all look like domestic cloth wardrobes and are not an eyesore.  They all have airsock type inlet/ outlet tubes as standard which are designed for extraction ducting to pass through and for cables to go in/ out. Each model has a varying amount of straps or hangers inside which are for hanging reflector/s , extractor/s and carbon filters and any other miscellaneous equipment you have in your growtent. We recommend always keeping your lighting ballast unit outside your growing space as extra heat in your Homebox,  DarkRoom or DarkStreet is not necessary.
